Cereal bar with flaxseeds - Lin des Pyrénées

Discover a recipe by Florence Oustau, ambassador for the Lin des Pyrénées brand. Founder of Zest' de Flow, Florence shares her culinary know-how by showcasing our products made from flax grown at the foot of the Pyrenees.

Made with maple syrup as a natural binder, these cereal bars pack in flaxseeds, almonds, coconut and cranberries. A perfect snack for athletes, children’s afternoon treats or a break at the office.

This creation highlights the full nutritional richness of flax: omega-3, fibre, plant protein, vitamins and minerals. A delicious, healthy recipe that anyone can make.

Ingredients

  • 50 g desiccated coconut
  • 60 g unsalted peanuts
  • 30 g Lin des Pyrénées flaxseeds
  • 50 g flaked almonds
  • 70 g cranberries
  • 50 g chocolate chips
  • 90 g oat flakes (or buckwheat)
  • 10 cl maple syrup

Step-by-step method

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine all the dry ingredients and mix.
  2. Pour in the maple syrup and stir with a spatula until everything is coated.
  3. Fill bar-shaped silicone moulds, pressing the mixture down firmly.
  4. Bake for 15 minutes at 180°C.
  5. As soon as they come out of the oven, press down again with the back of a spoon to bind the ingredients.
  6. Leave to cool, then turn out of the moulds.
  7. Store in a metal tin to keep them crunchy.

Florence’s tip

These bars freeze perfectly. Make a double batch and keep a few in the freezer for busy mornings.
