A granola with no added sugar, made with apple compote
Granola with no added sugar, made with apple compote: a healthy, indulgent breakfast rich in omega-3.

A granola with no added sugar made with apple compote is my healthy and indulgent idea to jazz up your fromage frais, yoghurts and fruit salads.
- A recipe I developed for my clients who want to reduce the sugar in their diet for health reasons while keeping as much indulgence as possible.
- Usually, the binder in a granola is made from vegetable oils and maple syrup or honey.
- I replaced this binder with homemade apple compote. The only sugar present in the granola will be that of the apple, fructose.
My 2 tips:
- Spread very thinly on a baking tray and let it turn golden in the oven
- Make it in small quantities (keeps for 3 days max in a metal tin at room temperature)
My organisation tip:
- Prepare 2 kg of apple compote in advance and leave to cool
- Weigh out 100g portions of compote (the weight in my recipe) into freezer bags and keep them in the freezer.
- Take out the compote you need the day before and thaw it in the fridge
The ingredients:
- 100 g homemade or no-added-sugar apple compote
- 50 g oat flakes, or millet for a gluten-free version
- 25 g buckwheat flakes
- 25 g almonds
- 25 g pecan nuts
- 10 g flaxseeds from the Occitan brand Lin des Pyrénées
- 15 g sunflower seeds
- 15 g kasha (roasted buckwheat)
